About Clinical Research

A clinical research study or clinical trial is generally considered to be a health-related medical study in people that follows a pre-defined written protocol.

Why Participate?

The information learned from this study may help doctors and researchers develop new treatment options for social anxiety disorder, both now and in the future.

While participants may or may not experience direct benefits from the study, their involvement contributes to advancing research. Some participants may see improvement, while others may have no change or experience worsening symptoms.

Study 1

What to Expect

  • The study center staff will talk with people who are interested in participating in this research study.
  • If the study staff feel an interested person may qualify to participate, the study staff will give a detailed explanation of this study and its potential risks and benefits.
  • If the person continues to be interested in the study, the study doctor and staff will review the person's medical history and conduct several assessments to determine whether the potential participant will satisfy all study entry requirements.

Voluntary Participation and Informed Consent

Participation in a research study is completely voluntary. In all research studies, qualified potential participants are first informed about the research study in detail. After receiving this information, all participants must give their consent in writing to proceed. Some research studies involve more tests and doctor visits than the participant would normally have for an illness or condition.

Participation Costs

There is no cost to participate, receive the investigational drug, visit the study center, or undergo study-related procedures, tests, and exams. Participants who meet study requirements may be reimbursed for study-related time and expenses.
